Exiting the park, we stop at Wall Drug for free ice water, 5 cent coffee, and a Buffalo Burger. Established in 1931 in "the middle of nowhere," business was slow until they thought of advertising free ice water to parched travelers heading to the newly opened Mount Rushmore monument 60 miles (97 km) to the west.
