Day 17 - Forester Pass: Bubbs Creek headwaters to Wallace Creek (11 mi, 2710 ft relief). The ascent to Forester Pass, at 13118 feet, the highest, and last, of the major passes. On the southern half of the trail I rise at 4 am to hike as dawn breaks, and avoid exposure during afternoon storms.
