Day 13 - The Golden Staircase: Grouse Meadow to Upper Palisade Lake (10 mi, 2780 ft relief). The goal today is to camp below Mather Pass, for an ascent tomorrow. Mather Pass requires an ascent of 4026 feet in 11 miles, most of which will be done today.
