Crossing the bridge to New Brunswick, Canada, I visit FDR's summer residence. Franklin D. Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States, served for 12 years, from 1933 until his death in 1945, the only president to serve more than two terms. He was a central figure in world events in the mid-1900s, during a time of worldwide economic depression and war. His New Deal policies, developed in response to the Great Depression, defined American liberalism.
